Dorothy Black Tindal, 90, of Charleston, SC, widow of Furman D. Tindal, entered into eternal rest Saturday, October 17, 2015. Her funeral service will be held Friday, October 23, 2015, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Dorothy was born December 31, 1924 in Williston, SC, daughter of the late James Bruce Black and the late Lucille Hightower Black. She was a retired school teacher and a member of Ashley River Baptist Church. Dorothy loved her Alma Mater, Columbia College. She was a member of the Charleston County School District Retired Teachers Association and the Jane Austen Society.

She is survived by her daughter, Cherri Steele (William) of Temecula, CA; her son, Michael David Tindal (Julie) of Charleston, SC; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
