Dorothy Stanford Shealey, 93, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Homer W. Shealey, entered into eternal rest Friday, May 29, 2015. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2015, in J. HENRY STUHR INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street, at 2:00 p.m. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dorothy was born April 9, 1922 in New Orleans, Louisiana, daughter of the late Daniel Stanford and the late Pearl Bailey Stanford. She was an accomplished seamstress with Manhattan Shirt Company before beginning her 20 year career as an occupational therapist at Charleston Memorial Hospital. Dorothy participated in the Women's Auxiliary of the Shriner's organization for many years. After retiring, she enjoyed sewing, arts and craft projects and gardening.

She is survived by her grandson, Eric L. Burn (Veronica) of Charleston, SC; and two great-granddaughters, Lindsay Charpia (Trey) and Laura Burn.
