Dorothy J. McMillan Ruotolo, 84, widow of Michael L. Ruotolo, Sr. of North Charleston, SC, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 in the Hospice Center of Charleston.
Born July 29, 1927 in Thomasville, GA; she was the daughter of James A. and Madie J. McMillan. Mrs. Ruotolo taught first grade at Saint John's and Divine Redeemer Catholic Schools, was a playground director at Park Circle and ran the Saturday Night Teen Club. She was a member of Saint John Catholic Church of North Charleston, SC, a member of LAFRA #269, Fleet Reserve Auxiliary #50 L. Mendel Rivers Branch, VFW #5091 Auxiliary and North Charleston Senior Citizens Group.
Mrs. Ruotolo is survived by her daughter, Diane Carroll (Jim) of Moncks Corner, SC; daughters-in-law Marilyn S. Ruotolo of Summerville, SC and Michele M. Ruotolo of Goose Creek, SC; four grandchildren: Michael L. Ruotolo III of Summerville, Maria Bischoff (AJ) of North Charleston, Jennifer Kositz (Jason) of Summerville, and Stephanie Fajardo (Andy) of Chapin, SC; 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Michael L. Ruotolo, Jr. and John N. Ruotolo, and brother, T. J. McMillan.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Saturday, July 14, 2012 at St. John Catholic Church. The Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. A vigil service will begin at 6 pm Friday, July 13, 2012 and visitation will follow until 8 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road.
