Dorothy Illing Pennell, 102, widow of Shuford V. Pennell of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, July 3, 2012. A graveside service will be held at Riverview Memorial Park Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11:00 A.M.
Dorothy was born December 9, 1909 in Dublin, GA, the son of Louis A. Illing and Mary Louise Addison Illing. She retired as a teacher from the Charleston County School System. She was a member of The Cathedral Church of St. Luke and St. Paul.
She is survived by two sons: W. Eugene Pennell of Charleston, SC and George I. Pennell of Anaheim, CA; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son John L. Pennell.
