Dee Dee as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren, loved all things outdoors. She grew up playing tennis in Ireland but really got involved with the sport after moving to the states in the late 1950's where she played almost every day well into her 70's. And , yes , she played to win. She started her day out jogging around Hobcaw in the early morning , a mid morning tennis game with her friends , and a late afternoon Tour de France around Hobcaw on her 10 speed bike. Back in the 70's the kids in Hobcaw affectionately knew her as the White Tornado. She did nothing Half-speed and was only afraid of running out of chocolate or Jameson. She also loved riding her horses at Doe Hall , family oyster roasts with friends at the farm , and shrimping and boating with Horry out at the Cape. Dorothy and Horry loved to travel and she made 16 trips to Australia to visit family as well as many trips to Ireland. She was a wonderful wife , mother, grandmother, and friend. She will greatly missed by all. She is survived by her daughter Susan Lackey and husband Mike of Greenville , S.C. , her son Michael Horry Morrison and his wife Mary Louise of Mt. Pleasant , and her grandchildren Eliza Lucas Apple (Ben) and Michael Horry Morrison Jr. of Mt. Pleasant.
