Dorothy Thompson McMasters

Dorothy Thompson McMasters, 83, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Ray Edward McMasters, died Sunday, June 1, 2014. The relatives and friends of Dorothy McMasters are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, in Trinity United Methodist Church, 273 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC at 4:00 pm. The family will greet friends at Trinity United Methodist Church from 3:00 until time of the service. Interment will take place on Thursday, June 5, 2014, in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, 1618 Salem Road, Bennettsville, SC at 1:00 pm. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Dorothy was born October 19, 1930 in Blenheim, South Carolina, daughter of the late Claude Thompson and the late Alberta Reardon Thompson. She was a homemaker, animal lover and loved to spend time with her family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Randall R. McMasters and his wife, Geni Dee, of Orlando, FL and Reed C. McMasters and his wife, Paula Hampton, of Mount Pleasant, SC; a daughter, Claudia M. Kapur and her husband, Drew, of Philadelphia, PA; six grandchildren, Lesley Wann, Holleigh McMasters, Mia Bingenheimer, Abigail Kapur, Craig Kapur and Lamar Phillips; and eight great grandchildren. Dorothy was also survived by her special friend, Lynne Vicary. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her son, Alan B. McMasters.
