Dorothy G. Mcilwain

Dorothy G. McIlwain, 84, of North Charleston, SC, widow of Harold Eakin McIlwain, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011, in a local hospital.

Born September 27, 1926 in Suffolk, VA she was the only child of Lawrence Gentile and Minnie Bell Branton Gentile.  She was a devoted wife and mother.

Mrs. McIlwain is survived by her children: Sandra Oldham and her husband Ron of Conway, SC, Robert Allen McIlwain of Walterboro, SC, Donna McIlwain of Goose Creek, SC, and Kristie Ward and her husband Rodney of Hampton, SC and two granddaughters, Kelly and Kari. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Harold L. McIlwain.  

The family will receive friends in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Saturday, July 16, 2011 between 12:00 noon and 1:30 p.m. followed by the graveside funeral service at 1:45 in Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406.
