Dorothy May Husted

Dorothy May Husted, 97, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late William Husted entered eternal rest Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Her celebration of life service will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023, in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel at 10:00 am.

Dorothy was born November 29, 1925, in East Orange, New Jersey, daughter of the late James Moses Jennings and Vera Estelle Marsh Jennings.  She attended Brooklyn School of Arts and was a talented painter and drawer, even drawing her own house plans. Later she worked as the business manager of a saddlery shop in Oldwick, NJ. 

She is survived by daughter, Bonnie H. Burton (Paul) of Mt. Pleasant and son, Craig William Husted (Penelope) of Wilmington, DE; five grandchildren, Joshua Burton (Cecile), Lindsay Bennett (Amos), Elizabeth Schavione (David), Timothy Husted (Rachel) and Jaime Husted (Leah); four great-grandchildren, Colton Bennett, Jackson Bennett, Kayla Burton and Callen Burton; son-in-law Robert Tischbin.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Ellen Tischbin.
