Dorothy Carroll Higdon

Entered into eternal rest on the evening of December 3, 2010, Dorothy Carroll Higdon, widow of Herbert Shannon Higdon of Charleston, SC.  Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Monday, December 6, 2010 between 5pm and 7pm. A graveside service will be conducted later in Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland.

Mrs. Higdon was born on October 13, 1919 in Washington, DC; the daughter of the late Thomas Daniel Carroll and Evelyn Carter Carroll.  She was a member of The Golden Techites and volunteered with the American Cancer Society and Calvert County Hospice.

She is survived by her son, Michael Shannon Higdon of Laurel, MD; daughter, Mary H. Brown and her husband Alan of Ladson, SC; grandchildren: Christi, Delaina, Shannon and Garry; great-grandsons: Cody, Logan, Cameron and RJ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Herbert.
