Dorothy Gertrude "Giggi" Harrison Jones
September 7, 1945 — February 18, 2018
Dorothy Gertrude "Giggi" Harrison Jones, 72, of High Point, NC, joined her parents and siblings in heaven on Sunday, Feb. 18. They are enjoying shrimp stew and rice, DeeDee's slaw, and Giggi's amazing pound cake!
Dorothy was born on September 7, 1945 in Charleston, South Carolina loving daughter of Dorothy "DeeDee" and Randolph "Ranny" Harrison, baby sister to Mamie Yielding and Randy Harrison. She attended James Island High School, then married and relocated to High Point, NC. (But she always kept the road hot to Charleston!) There she was a talented designer and furniture showroom manager at Garcia Imports for many years. She was an amazing cook, avid reader, talented seamstress, and loved to share her decorating flair!
Blessed with her love, and celebrating her life are her three daughters Darby Howell (Jeff), English Brown (David), and Beth Shuler (Hoke). "Giggi" to her grandchildren, her "angel buckets" are Rennee, English, Hoke (Shuler), Morgan, Raleigh (Howell) and Nick (Peeples).
Dorothy never met a stranger and loved life, making everyone feel like they were part of her family whether she knew them for a day or decades. She shared her Charleston grace, charm, and generosity of spirit with all. Although we will miss her, we'll laugh and smile through the tears because she taught us to live fully, love deeply, and be happy. We love her little bones!
Friends and family are invited to a Graveside Memorial Service, 11:00 am, March 10,2018 at Christ-St.Paul's Parish, 4981 Chapel Rd, Yonges Island,
SC.
