Dot was born on October 10, 1918 in Lanier, Georgia, daughter of the late James Randall Harvey and the late Helen Rolfe Thompson Harvey. She was a homemaker and loved to spend time with her family. For over 55 years, Dot was a faithful member of Charleston Heights Baptist Church. In 2001, she joined First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant, where she served as President of her Sunday School Class, and was involved in many of the church's ministry service projects. She was known for working tirelessly in her humble and gentle way to provide for, and encourage others. Dot was known for her deep devotion to her God, family, and friends, of which there were many. She possessed the true spirit of a servant.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Helen G. Stewart of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Carolyn G. (Wince) Holliday of Irmo, SC; grandchildren, Karen O. (Jeff) Wilson, Kimberly Ott, Kristin Ott, Joel (Annabelle) Upton, and Tim (Julie) Upton; ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
The family requests that rather than flowers, Dot's commitment to outreach be honored through donations in her name to The Lottie Moon Ministry of First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, 681 McCants Drive, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464, or any of the mission ministries of the church.
