Entered into eternal rest on the morning of May 8, 2012, Dorothy Sander Egonut of Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services Friday May 11, 2012 in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment, Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.
Mrs. Egonut was born August 29, 1917 in Charleston, SC, the daughter of William August Sander and Anna Meta Adelina Busch Sander. She was a graduate of Memminger School and a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the choir. She was also a member of Pythian Sisters Elizabeth Temple #2, Telephone Pioneers of America, SC Chapter #61 and Women of the Moose Chapter #2309. She retired from Bell South.
She is survived by one son: Paul W. Egonut of Charleston, SC; three grandchildren: Susan M. Hammet and her fiancé Jesse J. Spivey, Cheryl L. Egonut and her fiancé Chuck Otto and John E. Egonut, Jr. and his wife Mindy; nine great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by one son, John E. Egonut, three sisters and three brothers.
