Dorothy "Dot" Postell Meyer
June 11, 1926 — April 13, 2019
Dorothy "Dot" Postell Meyer, 92, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, widow of Maurice Eugene Meyer, Jr. entered into eternal rest Saturday, April 13, 2019. Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 11:00AM in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road. Interment to follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens in West Ashley. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 16, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel.
Dot was born June 11, 1926 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late John William Postell and Cecilia Platt Postell. She was a homemaker and a member of the first graduating class of Chicora High School.
She is survived by three daughters: Alleen Meyer Sweat (Ernest) of Landrum, SC, Marlene Nall of Venice, FL and Nancy Garnto of Goose Creek, SC; one son, Gene Meyer, III (Kellie) of Awendaw, SC; six grandchildren: David Sweat, Melissia Melnick, Samantha Tracy, Audra Hagadorn, Wayne Nall and Chris Sweat; three great-granddaughters: Miranda Artz, Hannah Lackey and Meghan Artz; three great-grandsons: Josh Artz, Elijah Bright and Luke Tracy; one great-great-grandson, Trent'n Chinners.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made in her name to the First Baptist Church of Goose Creek, 141 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek SC 29445.
