Dorothy "Doris" Faye Martin McKnight

Dorothy "Doris" Faye Martin McKnight, 81, of Mt. Pleasant, SC died on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 with her family at her side and surrounded with much love. The relatives and friends of Doris McKnight are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Saturday, April 14, 2012 in J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 3:30 p.m. The family will receive friends at the Mount Pleasant Chapel from 2:30 p.m. until time of the service.

Doris was born on January 26, 1931 in Morristown, Tennessee, daughter of the late Sam and Maude Martin. She left Tennessee as a young adult and has since called Charleston her home. To all she met, she was humble, kind spirited and always had time to be a friend. Every morning was met with a smile and a gentle manner. Most of all she was a faithful servant to her God.

Doris is survived by her two sons, Randy A. Funderburk and his wife, Peggy and Timothy D. Funderburk and his wife, Kim; a niece, she loved as a daughter, Debbie Hamilton and her husband, Doug; two granddaughters, Christie Hall (Ryan) and Amanda Funderburk; one sister, Roberta Dinkins of Florida and her constant lap companion, Mini Pearl. She was preceded in death by her friends whom she felt were family, James A. and Tincy L. Campbell, who we know met her with open arms.

The family requests that memorials be made to The Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406.
