Dorothy Ott Chapman

Dorothy Ott Chapman, 87, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, July 26, 2012. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 28, 2012 in the Epworth United Methodist Church, 1540 Camp Road, at 10:00 am. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.

Dorothy was born on November 22, 1924 in Orangeburg, South Carolina, daughter of Samuel and Rosa Rutland Ott. She was a secretary with the Charleston Public Works, a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and an avid animal lover. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Aunt Boots was beloved by her many nieces and nephews and their families. Dorothy loved her many friends and extended family at Epworth United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Chapman of Charleston, SC, son, David L. Chapman of Goose Creek, SC, son, Raymond M. (Judy) Chapman, Jr. of Lake Lure, NC, granddaughter, Jennifer (Ben) DeLong of Newport, KY, granddaughter, Brandi Chapman of Charleston, SC, grandson, Robert Chapman of Charleston, SC, two great-granddaughters, Autumn Hunt, Lilly Reynolds.She is predeceased by her husband, Raymond M. Chapman.
