Dorothy Leona Nelson Brewer, 94, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Wife of the late James Arlie Brewer died Sunday, August 9, 2015. Her Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in the Riverview Memorial Park, 3715 Azalea Drive at 10:00 am. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

Dorothy was born March 6, 1921 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Horace Lester Nelson and the late Ethel Leona Barber Nelson Drose. She was a former clerk during World War II at the Francis Marion Hotel and after she married she became a homemaker and loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was a member of the OES, Azalea Chapter 192.

She is survived by her daughter, Arlene B. Kraft and her husband, Russell, of Mount Pleasant, SC; one sister, Virginia Garno of Charleston, SC; one granddaughter, Angela Jackson and her husband, Jon, of Mount Pleasant, SC; four great grandchildren, Amber, Emily, Joshua and Katie; and two great-great grandchildren, Hunter and Isabel. She was preceded in death by a son, James Allen Brewer.
