Dorothy W.  Blewer, 81, of North Charleston, SC, widow of Odean B. "Red" Blewer, Sr., died Saturday, November 6, 2010, in a local hospital.

Born August 25, 1929 in Dorchester, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Whetsell and Rosa Belle Greene Whetsell. Mrs. Blewer was a member of Northwoods Assembly. Dorothy owned and operated Blewer's Red & White Grocery and later the "Lazy B" both located on Dorchester Road, North Charleston.

She is survived by her three children: Judy Blewer, Dean Blewer (Jane) and Cheryl Blewer all of Charleston; two sisters: Isabelle Thrower and Kay Smith both of Dorchester, SC; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 11:30 AM.  Interment to follow at Dorchester Memorial Gardens, St. George, SC.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel.
