Doroteo S. Santos

Entered into eternal rest on the morning of July 20, 2010, Dr. Doroteo S. Santos, husband of Lilia Mendoza Santos.  Residence, Granite Fall, North Carolina; formerly of Charleston, South Carolina.  The relatives and friends of Dr. and Mrs. Santos are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial of the former in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Friday, July 23, 2010, at two o'clock.  Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will be Saturday afternoon in Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory, North Carolina at two o'clock.   The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL Thursday from five until seven o'clock where a Rosary service will be conducted. 

Dr. Santos was born on March 28, 1931 in Manila, the Philippines, son of the late Jose and Dominga Santos.  Dr. Santos was a graduate of the University of The East, and a member of The Philippine Cultural Society of Charleston. 

Surviving are his wife Lilia of Granite Falls, NC; two daughters, Rhodora Gapud and husband Bobby of Charleston and Dr. Lizette Villacorte and her husband Arnold of Granite Falls, NC; son, Rodil Santos of Palisade Park, NJ; two brothers, Ricardo Santos of the Philippines and Dr. Josefino Santos Virginia Beach, VA; three sisters, Lydia Leocadio of the Philippines, Ester Rivera of California, and Amelita Buenaflor of the Philippines; seven grandchildren, Julian, Monica, Ysabella, Zarina, Victoria, Angelo, and Matthew.  Dr. Santos was preceded in death by a daughter, Jocelyne Santos.
