Doris Jean Rentz

Doris Jean Rentz, 82, of Charleston, SC, died Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Her funeral service will be held Friday, November 10, 2017 in the Holmes Avenue Baptist Church, 4602 Durant Avenue at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road.

Doris was born December 16, 1934 in Charleston, SC, daughter of the late William D. Rentz Sr. and the late Ollie Mae Sauls Rentz. She graduated from Murray Vocational School. Doris formerly was employed at Jarrard, Nowell and Russell, LLC as a certified public accountant. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

She is survived by two brothers, Donald (Daphne) Rentz of Cantonement, FL and Bobby Rentz of Monroe, NC; sister, Joyce (Lenny) Wright of Greenbay, WI; 115 loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews that she loved and considered as her own children. She was preceded in death by her sisters, June Rentz Evans, and Catherine Rentz Christie; brothers, William D. Rentz, Jr. and James Hastings Rentz; nieces, Patricia Evans Cain and Pamela Jean Swindler.
