Born January 10, 1929, she was the wife of the late Barton Allen Proctor, the daughter of the late Albert John Eckhardt and the late Katherine Dugan Eckhardt of Larchmont, New York, and the sister of Albert John Eckhardt, Jr. of Dorset, Vermont. She attended Connecticut College and was a dedicated member of the Junior League of Larchmont, serving on the board as Vice President and as Editor of the organization's publication Soundings. After spending many years in Larchmont, she resided with her family in Darien, Connecticut where she was a realtor with Scott Associates. She also lived in Buffalo, New York; Framingham, Massachusetts; Wilmington, North Carolina; and Richmond, Virginia. She had fond memories of her many friends and homes in those locations. Wherever she went, she was known for her quick wit, dry sense of humor, and warm personality.
Daisy was the beloved mother and mother-in-law of Katherine Proctor Macilwaine and Dr. John Courtenay Macilwaine, the late Elizabeth Proctor Kenerson and David Ryder Kenerson, Jr., Susan Proctor Shreves and the late John Randolph Shreves, and Barton Albert Proctor and Marian Branstestter Proctor. She was adored by her grandchildren Katherine Courtenay Macilwaine, David Ryder Kenerson Ill, Clayton Proctor Kenerson, Marian Elizabeth Proctor Miller, Hannah Proctor Bennett, and Katherine Kennedy Proctor Nyland as well as her great-children Elly Miller, Betsy Miller, and Chip Bennett. Her very best friend was her Yorkshire Terrier Sweet Pea.
The family is honored by and grateful for the support provided by Daisy's caregivers Sarah Sayekti, Diana Gilliard, Mae Bunsem, and Cynthia Harris.
