Doris Marie Dawson Daugherty, 95, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, widow of Brian Ward Daugherty entered into eternal rest Sunday, March 29, 2020. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr,Inc. West Ashley.
Doris was a native of Columbus Ohio, daughter of the late Benson Dawson and Nancy White Dawson.
She attended Ohio State University and worked at Nationwide Insurance as a Field Trainer setting up new branch offices. After being a homemaker for many years, she re-entered the workforce. She had a knack and love for business; worked in a museum gift shop, retail sales, managed a rental car business in a Chrysler dealership and then retired. Her hobbies included home decorating, gardening, playing bridge and golf.
She is survived by her four daughters, Susan Daugherty of Summerville, SC, Diana Daugherty Sanford (Art) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Julie Daugherty Dougherty (Larry) of Havertown PA and Kerry Daugherty Nason (Jim) of Randolph NJ; six grandchildren, Sandra and Matt Sanford, Connor, Mackenzie and Dylan Dougherty and Kelsey Nason; sister-in-law, Dorothy Daugherty Williams of Lexington, KY and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life and burial at Gardnersville Cemetery, De Mossville, KY will take place at a later date.
