Doris Barnes Appleford Mahon

Doris Barnes Appleford Mahon, 95, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, widow of Thomas Mahon, Jr. died Thursday, February 23, 2017. Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, February 27, 2017 in the Rodenberg Chapel (Franke at Seaside), 1600 Franke Drive at 12:30 p.m. Interment, Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Doris was born May 24, 1921 in Mansfield, Massachusetts to the late Harry B. Appleford and Ella Hoffman Appleford. She graduated from Hyde Park High School and Fisher Business School. Doris was a member of the Charleston Symphony League. She was devoted to her family and a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas "Todd" Mahon II (Cathryn) of Summerville, SC and Richard A. Mahon (Shannon) of Mount Pleasant, SC; five grandchildren, Lori Carlson, Lisa McMahon, David Mahon, Kyle Mahon, and Richard Mahon; four great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mary Beem of Grand Rapids, MI.

In addition to her husband, Tom, she was preceded in death by her son, William B. Mahon.
