Doris Emory Hames, 88, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Gilbert Holland Hames, Jr., entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 24, 2022. Her graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, June 30, 2022 in the Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road at 1:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Doris was born October 7, 1933 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, daughter of the late Elbert Emory and the late Joyce Thomas Emory.

She is survived by her daughters, Anne Gilmore and Peggy Gilmore; son, Paul "Vince" Gilmore III (Dana); and granddaughter, Leah Low.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Crescent Hospice and the Oaks of Charleston.
