Doris Mae Anderson

Doris Mae Anderson, 87, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of William H. Anderson, Sr. died Friday, October 21, 2016. Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2016 in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 712 Wappoo Road at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Doris was born April 4, 1929 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Oliver Otto and Dorothy Frances Jones Holmes. She was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and taught kindergarten there for over 30 years. Doris helped create many wonderful memories for children as she drove the church school bus.

She is survived by her son, William "Andy" H. Anderson, Jr., (Kim) of Summerville, SC; four grandchildren, Daniel (Sara), Joshua (Erin), Brooke, and Dustin (Sarah); seven wonderful great-grandchildren; her two nephews, Oliver and Matt Matthews; and her dear and life long friend, Lil McLean. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanor Matthews.
