Doris Janet Alexander

Doris Janet Kline Alexander, 71, wife of Kenneth Lee Alexander of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011. The relatives and friends of Janet Alexander are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Friday, May 13, 2011 in The Ministry Center of St. Andrews Church - Mt. Pleasant (Anglican) at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will be held in Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, Maryland at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2011.  The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL on Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.


Mrs. Alexander was born on February 11, 1940 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Willard E. Kline, Sr. and Doris Bramall Kline.  She was a homemaker and an active member of St. Andrew's Church - Mt. Pleasant (Anglican).  A graduate of Duke University, Janet was a member of The Phi Beta Kappa Society.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.


 She is survived by her husband, Kenneth L. Alexander of Mt. Pleasant, SC; one son, Doug Alexander and his wife, Betty of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two daughters, Donna Fritter and her husband, Tim of Bowie, MD and Cindy LaTorre and her husband, Jon of Davidsonville, MD; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother, Willard E. Kline, Jr. of Seneca, SC. 


 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society (PLEASE SPECIFY  "PANCREATIC CANCER RESEARCH"), 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, SC  29406.
