Donna Jean Frye

Donna Jean Frye, 72, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, wife of Dennis A. Frye entered into eternal rest Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Her Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2022 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 6:00pm. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.

Donna was born November 6, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of the late Elwood Ross Regan and Lillian Edith Suokko. She was a Registered Nurse and was currently working as a school nurse at Midland Park Primary. Donna loved to travel, whether it was on family excursions or heading to Colorado to see her best friend Penny, when they would go on road trips together. She loved puzzles and word games, as well as reading. She read anything from Christian literature to Mystery/Thriller novels. More than anything, Donna loved children and caring for them. Besides caring for her grandchildren, she served for 20 years as a nurse at the Children's Hospital in Charleston, before becoming a school nurse for preschoolers. She was the only school nurse in the entire district that was a grant liaison, where she often acquired funding and grants for the well-being of the children. Donna's friends often referred to her as "Spunky and Determined".

She is survived by her loving husband; four children, Bryan (Selena) Frye, Stacy (Lewis) Joline, Steven Frye and Eric Frye; three grandchildren, Ayla, Paisley and Mary Lewis; best friend, Penny Slaton and her children, Gina and Celena.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Duane Suokko.
