Donna Lee Burmeister Frank

Donna Lee Burmeister Frank, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away on September 22, 2024 in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Born on June 24, 1946, in Queens, New York, Donna lived a life rich with purpose, creativity, and unwavering love for her family.

Her dedication to community and faith was evident through her involvement with the Boy Scouts of America, where she and her husband, Jerry, nurtured the growth and values of young individuals. Donna possessed a remarkable talent for working with flowers, transforming them into exquisite creations, particularly during Easter when she lovingly crafted floral crosses for her church. Her devotion to her faith shone brightly as a member of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Queens Village, NY, and later as an active participant at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Mount Pleasant, fostering a sense of belonging and connection within her community.

Known for her commitment to family, Donna enjoyed bringing everyone together no matter the occasion. She delighted in cooking for her family, incorporating resourcefulness and love into each dish. Her affection extended passionately to her grandchildren—Kordell, Madison, Shane, and Cash—who were the apple of her eye, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Evenings often found her savoring a good glass of Jack Daniels, surrounded by loved ones. 

Her life journey was shared with her beloved siblings, Bill Burmeister (Charlotte Vetter) and Alison Burmeister, all residing in Queens, NY, who offered companionship and camaraderie throughout her life. Donna now reunites with her husband, Jerome "Jerry" Frank and dear parents, John W. Burmeister and Gladys Bunce Burmeister.

Donna's memory will forever reside in the hearts of her surviving family: her three sons, Timothy John Frank of NY, Eric "BigE" Martin Frank (Melanie) of SC, and Edward S. Frank (Karen) of CT. Her impact on those who knew and loved her is immeasurable.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at a later date where Donna and Jerry will be inurned together in Beaufort National Cemetery.
