Donald Franklin West

Donald Franklin West, 71, of Cainhoy, SC, husband of Nina Johnson West, entered into eternal rest Saturday, September 12, 2015. His funeral service with military honors will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2015, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, at 4:00 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Donald was born September 15, 1943 in Spokane, Washington, son of the late Donald L. West and Virginia Bryant West. He was a U.S. Army Special Forces paratrooper and served in the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina. Donald was the owner of Westco Military Representative Company and a former employee of Service Employment Supplemental. He was a charter member of All Saints Lutheran Church and a member of Etiwan Masonic Lodge #95.

He is survived by his wife, Nina West of Cainhoy, SC; mother, Virginia Bryant West; sons, Donald M. West, Christopher L. West, and Robert T. West and his wife, Phyllis; step-daughter, Valerie Moody; step-son, Kevin Gaskins; and twin brother, Robert David West. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mike West
