Donald Lee Shores

Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of December 12, 2010, Donald Lee Shores, husband of Lorraine Sturcken Shores.  Resident of Stono Ferry, Hollywood, South Carolina.  The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Shores are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial of the former Thursday, December 16, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10 am.  The Prayers of Commendation and Farewell will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL this Wednesday afternoon from five until seven o'clock p.m. with a Christian Wake service at five o'clock.

Mr. Shores was born July 24, 1953 in Norfolk, Virginia, son of Angelena "Mike" Mitchell Shores and the late Gance "Tommy" I. Shores.  A proud graduate of Moultrie High School, he married Lorraine Sturcken Shores previously of James Island, SC before completing Trident Technical College and founding Comfort Control Corporation, a mechanical contracting firm.  He also enjoyed many hobbies through the years.  An avid hunter and fisherman, Donnie first discovered his passion for the outdoors in the unspoiled Isle of Palms of the 1960's.  The humor and profound generosity he dispensed from underneath an omnipresent Minnesota Viking cap were hallmarks to all who loved him. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of The Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his devoted wife Lorraine of Stono Ferry, Hollywood, SC; daughter, Anna- Kate Shores of Washington, DC;  two sons, Dr. Nathan Shores (Anne-Marie) of San Francisco, CA and David Shores (Amy) of Raleigh, NC;  two brothers, twin Ronnie Shores (Sandy) of Hollywood, SC and Michael Hosch of Venice Beach, CA; four grandchildren, Tyler, Trevor, Ava and Joseph.
