Donald "Donnie" Nevil McDaniel, 79, of Charleston, South Carolina, widower of Joyce Good McDaniel, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 21, 2024. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 27, 2024 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Burial will be private.

Donald was born January 24, 1945 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Ruric Nevil McDaniel and Beulah Evelyn Sitler McDaniel. Donald served in the US Army then worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard where he retired. He earned a Masters degree from the Citadel and a PhD from ASU in Chemical Dependency. He helped many in the Charleston area with mental health issues along with drug and alcohol dependency.

Donald will be buried with the ashes of his beautiful loving wife of 55 years. He was also preceded in death by 5 brothers, Ruric Jr, Gene, Jack, Harold, and Richard McDaniel. Donald is survived by a son, Denny M McDaniel (Marianne) of Myrtle Beach SC; daughter, Wendy McDaniel McCants (Dale) of Ravenel, SC; 5 grandchildren, Dylan McDaniel, Krissy McDaniel, Dale McCants Jr, Colin McCants, and Kyle McCants; along with special nieces and nephews, John, Renee, Ricky, Gerald, and Traci; and 2 brothers-in-law, Kenny and Mike Good.
