Donald Edward Coppage

Donald Edward Coppage, 94, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of the late Violet Elizabeth Hayward Coppage died Tuesday, December 27, 2016. His Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery, 70 Cunnington Street, Charleston, SC with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the Mount Pleasant Chapel on Saturday, January 7, 2016 from 10:00 until time of the service.

Donald was born August 22, 1922 in Valley Lee, Maryland, son of the late William Duke Coppage and the late Lucy Milburn Coppage. He served in his beloved United States Marine Corps aboard the USS Hancock in the Pacific during World War II and during the Korean Conflict. He retired from civil service as a Maintenance Scheduler.

He is survived by daughter, Lucy Elizabeth Daniel of Gulf Breeze, FL; grandsons, Kevin LeRoy and Todd (Sherry) LeRoy, sister-inlaw, Helen Louise Hayward, nephew, Vic (Becky) Hayward, niece, Patty (Bill) Sullivan and great nieces, Tammy (Robert) Simpo and Cindy (Tommy) Hubbard, Heather (Jessie)Stanley and many great-great nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
