Donald Malvin Cockcroft, 75, of North, South Carolina, husband of Ching Kao Wahlers Cockcroft died Friday, September 21, 2018 surrounded by his family and dear friends. His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 4:00 pm. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel Tuesday from 3:00 pm until time of the service.
Donald was born March 3, 1943 in Sylvania, Georgia, son of the late Pierce Warren Cockcroft and Mildred Georgia Larisey. He served in the US Marine Corps Reserves during the Vietnam War, and worked as an electrician for 45 years. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and Masonic Lodge, St. James No. 275 in McClellanville.
In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Cockcroft DeWolff of Honey Hill, SC, and Elizabeth Cockcroft (Chris) Rowe of Dallas, TX; his step-son, Johnny J.C. Wahlers (Claire) of Mobile, AL; seven grandchildren, Weston D. DeWolff, Adam L. DeWolff, Jack V. DeWolff, Hayden Bay Rowe, Justin Wahlers, Katie Wahlers, Emma Wahlers; and his sister, Sheran Foxworth of Summerville, SC.
