Donald was born November 20, 1943 in Durham, North Carolina, son of the late Asa Alderman and Eva Martin. After that retirement he returned to Charleston where he enjoyed working in his small lawn care business for many years and had only finally retired in June of this year. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shrimping, gardening, and lots of other outdoor activities. He was always smiling and if he was outside, he was waving at every neighbor who passed by. He loved his church, Trinity Bible Church, and his church family. Donald served in the SC Army National Guard during the 60's.
He is survived by his two daughters, Missy (David) Avant, Donna Crosby; two sons, Christopher (Barbara) Ware, Alan (Jennifer) Ware; and 10 grandchildren, Cole, Ryan, Brett, Lexi, Dondi, Ethan, Hayley, Jeremiah, Jonas, and Anna; two great grandchildren, Colby, and Spencer; sister, Peggy (Owen) Williams; multiple nieces and nephews, and many beloved inlaws. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Alderman; and son in law, Jerry Crosby.
