Don Wayne Dent

Don Wayne Dent, 50, of Johns Island, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, September 12, 2013. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 16, 2013, in the Lutheran Church of The Redeemer, 714 Riverdale Drive, at 11:00 am. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.

Don was born April 5, 1963 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of H. George Dent and Rose Marie Mixson Dent. He was an executive of Southern Dredging Co., Inc. and a member of the Lutheran Church of The Redeemer. Don enjoyed the outdoors, especially offshore fishing and hunting. He was a member of the West Ashley Outboard Motor Club, Cheeha Combahee Hunting Club and was the president of Haven One Hunting Club.

He is survived by his parents of James Island; daughter, Ashley Marie Dent of Yonges Island; son, Don Wayne Dent, Jr. of Awendaw; two brothers: David I. Dent (Patricia) of Johns Island and George E. Dent (Helen) of Wadmalaw Island; and two sisters: Donna Jones (Randy) of Charleston and Virginia Fogle (Alan) of Charleston.
