Dolphus Lee McLellan of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on the morning of June 13, 2011. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 12 noon in New Beginnings Community Church. Friends may call at the Church one hour prior to the service. Following the graveside service at Holy Cross Cemetery, family and friends will be gathering at Ted McLellan's home.
Mr. McLellan was born January 9, 1951 in Danville, Illinois, the son of J.D. McLellan and Gilda Huggins McLellan Merritt. He was a graduate of James Island High School and served with the United States Army. He retired from Ruscon Construction as Construction Superintendent. Dolphus enjoyed the outdoors, building, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his brother: Ted K. McLellan and his wife Sandra of James Island, SC; six nieces: Crystal Ferretti and her husband Jim, Amber Benton, Tara Kirby and her husband Roger, Ashlyn Stearns, Anna-Morgan Benton and Natalie Benton; two nephews: Chandler Kirby and Hudson Kirby, and special friends Nancy Hayes and Carroll Alexander.
Memorials may be made to New Beginnings Community Church Benevolent Fund, 849 Fort Johnson Road, James Island, SC 29412.
