Dolores Riggs Reuter

Entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 7, 2012, Katherine Dolores Riggs Reuter, 85 of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of John Douglass Reuter. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Citadel Square Baptist Church at 2:00 o'clock. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday from 1:00 o'clock until time of service. Arrangements by J.HENRY STUHR WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.

Born on December 2, 1926 in Birmingham, Alabama, Dolores was the daughter of the late William L. Riggs Sr. and Sadie Woolard Riggs. She received her Bachelor's degree from College of Charleston in 1947, and was a teacher at Riverland Terrace Elementary School for many years. Dolores was a member of Citadel Square Baptist Church, and worked with her husband Doug at Southside Chapel for many years. She enjoyed her grandchildren, music, ballet, and each year enjoyed Spoleto Festival. Her hobbies included beachcombing and shelling. "Mama Doe", AKA "Aunt Doe", will be missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include three grandchildren; Rachel Arendt of San Diego, CA, Andy Reuter of West Columbia, SC, and Rebecca Reuter of Fenton, MI; her first cousin "Sister" Bonnie Joy; nieces and nephews, Sharon Riggs Harper, Lynn Riggs Reese and Bryan Riggs all of Charleston, and John Reuter of Georgia. She was preceded in death by her son, David M. Reuter and a brother, William L. "Buddy" Riggs, Jr.
