Dolly Elam Walters, 88, of Summerville, South Carolina, wife of the late Wellie "Bob" Louis Walters, entered into eternal rest Monday, August 17, 2026. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel. Her Graveside Service will be held Thursday, August 20, 2026, in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road, at 11:00 am.

Dolly was born September 24, 1937, in Cartersville, Georgia, the daughter of the late James Elam and Edna Lackey Elam. She was a devoted member of Johns Island Southern Methodist Church. She volunteered for many years at the Sea Island Habitat for Humanity on Johns Island. Dolly was known by many loving names - Mom, Granny, Mama Dolly, and Aunt Dolly. She never met a stranger. She was the kind of person who made everyone feel welcomed and loved. She was one of the most kind, understanding, and nonjudgmental people you could ever meet, and she never turned away a child who needed a place to stay. Her home and her heart were always open.

She is survived by her four sons, David Walters (Dana) of Milton, WV, Robert Walters (Shelby) of West Ashley, SC, Billy Walters (Sandi) of Westminster, SC, and Bart Walters (Kari) of Summerville, SC; two daughters, Terry Higgins of Johns Island, SC, and Sandy Fullwood of Summerville, SC; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tina Rasque, and her four siblings.

Memorials may be made to Veteran Spouse Network or to the Arbor Day Foundation.

Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel.
