Dock Franklin Edwards

Dock Franklin Edwards, Jr., age 62, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Ralph H. Johnson Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina. Born October 3, 1948 in Columbia, South Carolina he served honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

Dock was a decorated veteran having earned the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Rifle Sharpshooter Badge and the National Defense Service Medal.

Following his military service, Dock was a carpenter and for many years was employed with Charleston County Government.

His son, Dock Franklin Edwards, III "Trey" of Summerville, SC survives him.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 5, 2010 from 11:00-12:00PM at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, SC 29406. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00PM Friday, November 5, 2010 at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC.
