Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of May 20, 2010, Dieter Beckmann, husband of Ursula Eckert Beckmann. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Dieter Beckmann are invited to attend the funeral service of the former in Old St. Andrew's Episcopal Church Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at eleven o'clock. Burial will be private. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Monday between five and seven o'clock. Mr. Beckmann was born April 11, 1934, in Paderborn, Germany, the son of Walter Beckmann and Hedwig Kubicki Beckmann. He was a Master of the Guild in Germany and retired construction consultant. Mr. Beckmann was a friend of Bill Wilson. He is survived by his wife of Charleston, SC; one son, Andreas Beckmann of Germany; three daughters, Britt Beckmann (Achim Hellkamps-Beckmann) of Germany, Carol Beckmann-Bartlett ( William) of Charleston, SC and Ginger Beckmann Rogers (Jimmy) of Lincolnton, NC; one sister, Doris B. Wambach (Wolfgang) of Germany; and two grandchildren, Ronja and Nick. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
