Diedtrich K. Ahrens

Diedtrich Karston Ahrens, 92, of North Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Arline Helen Crawford Ahrens went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, December 25, 2018. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road. His Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 31, at 11:00 AM in the North Area Chapel. Interment with military honors will follow at Riverview Memorial Park.

Diedtrich was born December 9, 1926 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late John Kempson and the late Exie Smith. He was an electrician and retired from Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a Navy veteran, served in WWII, and was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Arline; two daughters, Sharon Wallace (Hoyle) of Conway, SC, and Harriett Allen (Sam) of Martin, TN; two sons, Mark Ahrens (Susan) of North Charleston, SC, and Paul Ahrens (Kathy) of Rincon, GA; 10 grandchildren: James, Larry Diedtrich, Amy, Nicholas, Sarah, Lydia, Aaron, Alisha, Ashley and Rex; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Christina.
