Dianne T. Gainey

November 3, 1947 — October 12, 2020

Dianne Tiedemann Gainey of Charleston, SC, aged 72, joined the Church Triumphant on Monday October 12, 2020.

Dianne was a beloved mother, grandmother and nurse. She started working as an LPN then graduated from Trident Technical College School of Nursing in 1990 as a Registered Nurse (RN). She worked at Roper Hospital in downtown Charleston, SC until her retirement in 2012, after working in nursing for over 25 years where she touched the lives of many people.

Dianne loved to take care of others as both a nurse and a friend. She was always bringing someone home who was away from their own family and welcoming them into ours. She loved Christmas, big family meals and sharing vacations with us all, especially taking the grandkids to Disney World.

Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry Tiedemann and Lucille Ricketson Tiedemann of Mt Pleasant, SC, as well as her sisters, Sandra Jean Shuler of Camden, SC and Margaret Lynn Clark of Mt Pleasant, SC.

She is survived by her sister, Catherine T. Rodenberg of Mt. Pleasant, SC; her daughter, Michele Farthing and her husband Walter of Charleston; her sons Charles "Bubba" Gainey of Greenville, SC, and Anthony Gainey and his wife Jennifer of Johns Island, SC; and her daughter, Crystal O'Donald and her husband Constantine V (Connie) of North Charleston.

Dianne is also survived by 10 grandchildren who she loved dearly, saying often that her grands were her most precious gifts. Zachary, Hannah, Sophia, Adeline, Slade, Cruze, Alaura, Constantine VI (CJ), Simon and Maggie. They will always remember that GG "Loves you, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck".

Funeral services for our beloved mother and GG will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 11am at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens on Mathis Ferry Road. Due to COVID restrictions, a family-only gathering will be held beforehand at Stuhr's Mt. Pleasant. As we come together to honor this amazing woman, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace with our Lord and Savior.

Dianne was a long standing member of Faith Lutheran Evangelical Church located on Johns Island, SC. In lieu of flowers the family would be grateful for donations made to the church in her memory. Faith Lutheran P.O. Box 216 Johns Island, SC 29457
