Derwood Clifton Patton

May 26, 1927 — February 21, 2018

Derwood Clifton Patton, 90, of Charleston, South Carolina, widower of Mary Maxine Musslewhite Patton and Berneda Lunsford Patton entered into eternal rest Wednesday, February 21, 2018. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the graveside in Carolina Memorial Park, North Charleston at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.

Derwood was born May 26, 1927 in Jones County, Texas, son of the late Edward Cleveland Patton and Tommie Rowland Patton. He was a veteran of the USMC and retired Planner and Estimator with the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a member and former elder of Essex Village Church of Christ.

He is survived by his four daughters, Linda P. Stoddard (Ronald) of Lilburn, GA; Deborah P. Gully (Jay) of Greenville, SC; Michele Patton Gentry (Jasper) of Ladson, SC; Nancy P. Hay (Alan) of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sisters, Mary Webb of Garmon, TX; Peggy Moore of Carlsbad, NM; two brothers, Cloys Patton of Houston, TX; Billy Patton of Thompsons Station, TX; ten grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Dwayne Patton and grandson Jeffrey Alan Gully.

The family wishes to thank Oliver Levin for his years of wonderful care, support and friendship.
