Dennis Wayne Kirby, 66, of Johns Island, SC, husband of Kathleen Jenkins Kirby, entered into eternal rest Sunday, September 7, 2014. His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2014, in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, at 12:00 p.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Dennis was born February 19, 1948 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Emmett Francis Kirby and Mary Driggers Kirby. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He attended Trident Technical College and worked as both an electrician and welder. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Kirby; three sons, Shawn Kirby, Shayne Kirby and Jamie Scot Bell; daughter, Kathleen Denise Kirby; sister, Margie Sheffield (Ray); brother, Ernie Lee (Kathy); and two grandchildren, Jamie Scot Bell II and John Bell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Charleston, 4975 LaCross Road, Suite 200, North Charleston, SC 29406.
