Demal Ignatius Mattson, Jr., 73, of Charleston, SC, husband of Yvonne Cox Mattson, entered into eternal rest Saturday, April 30, 2016. All services will be private.
Demal was born May 29, 1942 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Demal Ignatius Mattson and Adaline Jones Mattson. He was a U.S. Navy JAG veteran and an attorney in Mount Pleasant and Charleston. Demal was a graduate of Bishop England High School, the College of Charleston, and the University of South Carolina School of Law.
He is survived by his loving wife, Yvonne; three sons: Demal I. Mattson, III, Michael E. Mattson, both of Charleston and Lawton A. Mattson (Shannon) of Hanahan; daughter, Caroline M. Mason (Tim) of St. Augustine, FL; granddaughter, Brynna Elise Mason; grandson, Zachary Paul Mason; and his sister, Mary Mattson of Atlanta, GA.
