Debra Jean Spencer

Debra Jean Spencer, 55, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina died Monday, August 3, 2015. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the All Saints Lutheran Church Memorial Garden, 2107 Highway 17 N, at 5:30 p.m. The family will receive friends beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the Parish Life Center.

Debra was born December 30, 1959 in Terre Haute, Indiana, daughter of the late Bob Spencer and the late Clarabelle Altvater Spencer Snuffer.

She accomplished many things living with Down syndrome, including living independently before moving into her Community Residence. She also took great pride in her various work positions within the community. She loved with all her heart, had a sweet sense of humor, and enjoyed life. She will be forever loved and missed.

She is survived by her sister, Cindy Hanson of Mount Pleasant, SC; two brothers, Brad Spencer (Amy) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Bruce Spencer (Gayle) of Ellettsville, IN; cousin/adopted sister, Mary Taylor (Evan) of Greencastle, IN; and stepmother, MaryAnn Snyder of Mt. Pleasant. She is also survived by many relatives, friends, the loving staff of Charleston County Disability Services and the residents at her community home.
