Debra (Debbie) Norwood McKenzie, 70, of Johns Island, South Carolina died at her home at Bohicket Marina Village after a long illness on March 13, 2024.

She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina to Verden and Harvey Norwood. Debbie always enjoyed school as a child and later attended Queens College excelling in her major of business administration. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to the successful start-ups of three companies in her career. Debbie took that same talent and skill of business expertise into various volunteer and organizational work. She served as president of the North Mecklenburg Rotary Club in 2003.

Faith and family were most important to Debbie. She was preceded in death by her parents. Within her immediate family, she is survived by her husband, Jerry McKenzie; brothers Douglas and Danny Norwood; sister Judy Enter.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Church of Our Savior, 4416 Betsy Kerrison Parkway, Johns Island, South Carolina at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 6, 2024. A reception in the Parish Hall will follow.
