In Loving Memory of Debra Lynn Doxey

September 29, 1959 – May 26, 2025

Debra Lynn Doxey, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on September 29, 1959, in Portsmouth, Virginia, Debra lived a life filled with compassion, family, and a deep love for animals.

A proud graduate of Hanahan High School, Class of 1978, Debra continued her education at Winthrop University. Throughout her life, she was known for her kindness and generosity, especially toward her beloved dogs—including her faithful black lab, Shadow.

Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Patricia Lynn Doxey and Anthony Martin Doxey, as well as her nephew, Patrick Henderson. She is survived by her sister, Annette Henderson; her brother, Anthony (Tony) Martin Doxey Jr.; her niece, Sara Doxey; nephews, Stephan Doxey and Anthony (Little Tony) Martin Doxey III; and her grandniece, Piper Doxey.

A memorial service to celebrate Debra’s life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Debra’s honor to the Charleston Humane Society, reflecting her lifelong dedication to animal welfare.

Debra will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
