Deborah Godfrey Welch, 71, of Summerville, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 28, 2025. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2025 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel at 12:00 pm, and the family will receive friends beginning one hour prior. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens.

Deborah was born September 15, 1954 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Clyde Godfrey and Jessie Lorine Wilson Godfrey. Deborah worked with the Charleston County School District for over 30 years. She loved bingo, playing piano, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also played piano for her church where she led in song.

She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Lorine Mitchum (Dustin) of North Charleston, SC and Mary Ann Powers of Charleston, SC; granddaughters, Hannah (Jacob), Caroline, and Sophie; brother, Benny Godfrey (Brenda) of Hollywood, SC; as well as many loved nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations can be made in Deborah's memory to a charity of your choice.
