Debbie Lynn Mallaney, 61, of North Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, May 10, 2017. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday , May 16, in Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1149 Russell Drive Mount Pleasant, SC, at 11:00 a.m. Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell for Debbie will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, May 15, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Debbie was born August 22, 1955 in Kankakee, Illinois, daughter of the late John "Jack" Joseph Mallaney and Lorraine LaGesse Mallaney. She was a teacher for forty years, most recently at Christ Our King-Stella Maris School in Mt. Pleasant, SC and previously at Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary School in Bourbonnais, Illinois. She was also an associate of the Congregation of Notre Dame.
She is survived by her mother of North Charleston; two brothers, John Mallaney (Cindy) of Lakes of the Ozarks, MO; Thomas Mallaney, of Bradley, IL; two sisters, Kathy Mallaney of North Charleston, SC; Kelly Mallaney Heath (Doug) of Sullivan's Island, SC; two nieces, Mary Bradley Heath, and Morgan Mallaney Heath.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Christ our King-Stella Maris School and Christ Our King Catholic Church for their overwhelming and constant support. They would also like to thank the staff at CHOA (Charleston Hematology Onocology Associates) and Roper Hospice for their love, care, and support.
Debbie fought a long and courageous battle with colon cancer and is now at peace with the Lord.
