Deanna Dix Bentley

Deanna Dix Bentley, 77, of Harleyville, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Friday, March 28, 2025. Her Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 3, 2025 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 12:00 pm. The family will receive friends Thursday, one hour prior to the service.

Deanna was born December 21, 1947 in Walterboro, South Carolina, daughter of the late Lonnie B. Dix and Catherine Tuten Dix. At an early age, the family moved to Charleston. She graduated from St. Andrews High School in 1965. She then went on to attend the Baptist College. Deanna finished her degree in Biology at MUSC and trained to be a cytologist. She worked at MUSC for several years before becoming a civil service employee for over 40 years at the Navy Hospital and the VA Hospital in Charleston. She loved serving those in the military and the veterans.

She is survived by a daughter, Michelle Bentley (Chuck) of Harleyville; granddaughter, Lane Bentley of Mt. Pleasant, and daughter-in-law, Karen McKamey of Johns Island. Deanna is also survived by a brother, Danny Dix (Cindy) of Charleston. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family would also like to thank her caregiver and friend, Steph Wood. Steph provided Deanna with the best care. The family is forever grateful.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Claude Edwin Bentley.
